GreenAgro is a micronized, activated zeolite designed to regenerate soil health, improve nutrient retention, and reduce losses from leaching or ammonia volatilization. It enhances root development, crop resilience and environmental sustainability.
GreenAgro is a 100% natural soil conditioner based on activated clinoptilolite, designed to rejuvenate agricultural land and improve fertility in a sustainable way. When we talk to a farmer about GreenAgro, we may introduce it as “the natural ally for living soils and more productive crops”. What exactly does it do?
Improves soil structure and retention: GreenAgro's porous particles act as reservoirs for water and nutrients in the soil. They retain rain or irrigation water and gradually release it, prolonging the moisture available for crops. In light (sandy) soils, studies show that moderate doses of clinoptilolite can increase the available water content by 16-20%, reducing the frequency of irrigation required. With higher doses, up to 60% more water capacity was reached under experimental conditions. This translates into more resilient crops during periods of drought or heat. GreenAgro also improves aeration and porosity, preventing compaction; a treated soil becomes more of a sponge soil that retains moisture, but drains excess moisture well.
It releases and retains nutrients: Thanks to its high cation exchange capacity, GreenAgro captures essential nutrients (such as ammonium, potassium, calcium) when in excess, preventing them from being leached or lost, and then releases them when plants require them. This stabilizes pH, prevents salinization and maintains constant nutrient availability. After several crop cycles using GreenAgro, cumulative soil fertility increases: less synthetic fertilizer is needed to achieve the same or higher yields, because the soil “stores” more fertility from one year to the next. In multi-year trials, it was seen that soils with GreenAgro retained better texture, higher nutrient content and exchange capacity, reducing dependence on agrochemicals and generating savings to the producer in the medium term.
Reduction of contaminants: GreenAgro contributes to immobilize contaminants or heavy metals in the soil, reducing their bioavailability. This improves crop safety (less cadmium or other metals passing to the plants) and the quality of the harvested food. Also, by retaining more nitrogen in the soil (in retained ammonia form), emissions of gases such as nitrous oxide and ammonia to the environment are reduced. In other words, GreenAgro increases useful soil fertility without increasing pollution.
Key benefits: Why would a grower want to use GreenAgro?
More water and nutrients where they matter: Increases water (up to 20-30%) and nutrient retention in the root zone, reducing over-irrigation and over-fertilization.
Long-term healthy soils: Improves structure (more porosity, better texture) and balances pH, avoiding degradation due to intensive use. After repeated applications, the soil is enriched in organic matter and exchange capacity, becoming more fertile year after year.
Less leaching and chemicals: Reduces the leakage of fertilizers to the subsoil and water courses, allowing lower doses of synthetic fertilizers (~30% less, according to real cases) without yield loss.
Higher sustainable yields: It boosts crop productivity in an ecological way, often increasing yields (~10% in additional crop weight in horticultural crops, according to experiences). All this without harming the environment, aligned with organic agriculture (GreenAgro is also ECOCERT certified as an allowed input).
