GreenPure is a dry absorbent blend based on activated clinoptilolite, formulated to capture ammonia, moisture, and toxic gases in animal bedding. It improves hygiene, reduces odor and humidity, and contributes to biosecurity in intensive farming. 

GreenPure is an environmental solution to improve conditions in livestock facilities, keeping animal environments dry, clean and with less toxic gases. It is formulated from high purity sedimentary clinoptilolite, micronized and treated to maximize its absorption capacity. GreenPure is applied directly to animal bedding (litter, shavings, straw) and slurry pits or manure pits.

What does GreenPure achieve?

• Moisture absorption: It acts as a powerful desiccant. Sprinkled on the bedding, it absorbs moisture from urine and manure, keeping the bedding drier. This reduces the growth of bacteria and fungi that cause foot pad dermatitis, mastitis or other infections associated with wet litter. In chickens, drier litter means less leg burns and cleaner plumage; in cows, less risk of environmental mastitis; in pigs, less mud and body dirt.

• Neutralization of harmful gases: GreenPure captures and retains ammonia (NH₃) and sulfides from manure. It chemically fixes them in non-volatile forms (NH₄⁺ ammonium, sulfites), reducing irritant gas in the environment. Decreases of up to 60% in gaseous ammonia concentration have been measured after applying GreenPure to pits and beds. This significantly improves on-farm air quality and reduces perceived odors. By retaining the nitrogen in the slurry in the form of ammonium, it also optimizes the fertilizer value of that slurry (more nitrogen usable for the field instead of lost to the air).

• Sanitizing effect: By drying the environment and raising the pH of the surface (clinoptilolite tends to be alkaline), it makes it more difficult for pathogens to live in the litter. For example, higher pH is reported to inhibit viruses such as PRRS in swine farms. In addition, GreenPure is compatible with photocatalysis: its application can be combined with UV-A lamps in houses to activate a photocatalytic coating (TiO₂) that further destroys microbes. Thus, it works in mineral + light synergy for complete environmental biosecurity. In field tests, using GreenPure on walls and pits with UV light reduced up to 17% of airborne dust particles (by agglomerating them) and decreased the survival of airborne bacteria.

• Ease of use and versatility: GreenPure is easy to apply: sprinkled by hand or with a shearer on bedding (typical dosage 100-150 g/m²) and spread on slurry (5-10 kg per m³ of slurry). It is non-toxic, so if animals ingest it, it does no harm (in fact, it is the same mineral as GreenDigest, only applied in the environment). It comes in 25 kg bags for small farms or big-bags of up to 1,100 kg for large producers. It can be used in any species: chickens, turkeys, pigs, cows, horses, rabbits, etc., adapting doses.

• Less fumes, less odors: Proven reductions of ammonia up to 50-60%, and also of hydrogen sulfide, making the air more breathable. Improves animal and worker comfort and reduces odor complaints in populated areas.

• Dry bedding = healthy animals: By reducing humidity, the incidence of foot, skin and respiratory diseases is reduced (because there are fewer pathogens in the environment). This increases animal welfare and can be reflected in better production rates (e.g., hens that do not suffer from infections lay more eggs).

• Better utilization of slurry: By retaining nitrogen as ammonium in the slurry, manure retains more fertilizer value, allowing the farmer to save on the purchase of chemical fertilizers when applying manure to the field. In addition, less volatilized nitrogen means less environmental impact and easier to meet emission limits.

• Easy and safe application: No special facilities are required. Just sprinkle periodically, e.g., after manure removal or each new bed. No withdrawal period or restrictions, natural and safe even if over-applied (will not poison animals or people).
